This was not going to be easy. He would need to tell her. About everything. His job. Monsters. The apocalypse. Everything. And how would she feel about that? Would she freak out? Being brought back... that was one thing. But to know of the existence of the monsters that crept in the night? That just might be another story. Hearing a noise, he looked to his left, only to see Lucifer standing there, smirking at him. 'Aww, Sammy gonna tell her everything? How sweet.' Sam closed his eyes for a second, pressing his thumb into the scar hard, wincing from the pain. He could not deal with Lucifer right now. He just couldn't. Sam just needed to focus on Jessica. That was it. End of story. Shaking his head, he opened his eyes again and looked back to Jessica.
This was not easy. It was not something they normal did. Telling people about all this crap in their lives. ”It's all true you know. Monsters. The supernatural. I'm talking vengeful spirits, werewolves, vampires, and a hell of a lot more you probably never even heard of.” He looked into her eyes, looking for a reaction of some sort. ”I- I hunt them. I'm a hunter. Me and my brother. That's my life. And that's why I left school. I thought I could run from it, but I couldn't. It was always who I was meant to be.” Even though it caused quite a bit of pain. Dying, going to hell, losing people. It was pure torture at times.
Sam looked away from jess, not being able to look at her. If she were to look at him much differently, like he was some sort of grade A freak, then that was something that he could not handle. He knew that he was a freak. From a very young age. He always knew that. And it was not something that he would ever change. He knew how his brother looked at him. Like a grenade that was seconds away from going off. His brother was just waiting for the other shoe to drop. That much, Sam was sure of. He was a freak that saw Lucifer. That was a hunter and had been stuck in Hell. Who had no soul at one point. Face it. All of that crap made him pretty freaking far from normal. And that was just something that Sam Winchester could never change.

Jessica followed Sam’s gaze when he glanced to his left. A look of confusion crossed over her face when she saw that there was no one there. Perhaps he had heard something she hadn’t? She looked again, just to make sure there wasn’t something that she had missed, but sure enough, there was nothing there. Her eyes flashed towards Sam again and she saw that his eyes were closed and he was wincing as he pressed his thumb into the wound on his hand. “What-what are you doing?” she asked, resisting the urge to reach out and stop him. Why was he hurting himself like that?
Her eyes slowly widened when she heard what Sam said. “All of it? It’s all real?” she said, pulling Belle closer to her for comfort. She didn’t want to think that there was anything worse than…well…her. To her, werewolves were a pretty frightening creature, but could it be possible that there were worse things out there? She’d never really thought about what else might be existing in the world. Thinking back, Jessica realized that it was a somewhat naïve thought to think that werewolves might be all there was. She was curious about what else might exist besides the few that Sam mentioned. It would certainly explain what had killed her and what had brought her back.
Jessica was pulled out of her inner thoughts when she heard what Sam said next. That heart shattering statement caused her to fall back against the back of the bench and frown. “You hunt them?” she said, hesitantly,”So-so if you saw one of these…these creatures…then you would want to kill...it?” She wanted him to say no, she wanted him to reveal that this was all just a big, cruel joke and that things would go back to the way they were between them. If only she was so lucky, but she couldn’t help but wonder…
Would Sam want to kill her?
“Do you…know a lot about these things? Would you be able to spot one if you ran into one?” She harshly bit her lip, trying to fight back the urge to cry. She was frightened. Not exactly because she was afraid of dying at the moment, but more about losing Sam from her life again. She didn’t want to see the look of fear or disgust or obligation on his face when he came to realize what she was now.

It was Jess' voice that broke him away from his thoughts. Telling him to stop. He had hardly noticed what he was doing. But he needed Lucifer to leave, to just leave him alone. And it did make him go away. If not for just a little while. Sam looked to Jess and let out a sigh. ”It's true. Everything. Everything I tried to keep from you. Growing up, all I wanted to be was normal. I never wanted this. That's why I left for college. My dad told me if I walked out that door to never come back. And that was why I had never really spoke to my family. They wanted this. I didn't. I wanted to be normal. I didn't want you to know about the truth of everything.”
Sam just shook his head sadly and looked down at the ground. ”It's not that easy at times. Everything is just not as black and white as people think. And no, I can't just spot a person and know what they are. It's not as easy as that. Because some things, they look human.” He finally looked back up at Jess.
”But killing them, it's kind of our job. We save lives, Jess. Do you know how many people are alive because of us? To many to even count. But I guess it's worth it.” Yeah, they live at a cost. Sam and Dean and any other hunter out there, they don't really have much of a life because they are always on the road hunting things. Keeping people from being killed. And he still hated this job. He still wished that he could go back to the normal life that he once had had. He was happy. Until that unfortunate night. ”I understand if you think I'm crazy. Jess... I am crazy. Hell, it is probably not to safe for you to be around me now. Dean could probably tell you that. Things have happened. You- after you died, you probably was in Heaven. I've died. Dean sold his soul for me. Been to Hell. I was locked in the cage with Lucifer. I was his vessel for a short time.” He shook his head, sadly and stood up, looking down at Jessica. ”But I'm warning you. If you hang around me, you're life could very well be in danger. Azazel killed you. Killed you because of me. It is my fault. He did it to push me. To get me back on the road. It's one hell of a long story. One you are probably best not to known. Because that road lead down a very dangerous and dark path for me. You see, Jess, I'm not who you think I am. I never was.”

[/img] Jessica was slowly becoming more and more terrified the more Sam spoke, but at the same time, everything seemed to be making more and more sense to her. Why Sam didn’t want to talk about his family too often, why he was so secret about his home life. She wished that he had let her more into his life, but…how would she have reacted to hearing all of this back when she was alive for the first time? To be completely honest, she probably would have thought he was crazy or playing some kind of joke. She definitely did not believe in the supernatural back then because she’d led such a normal, average, happy life. She silently nodded when Sam answered her question. Well, at least she was safe for the time being. It would probably just be a matter of time before he found out. She was certain that something would happen; she would slip up and accidentally reveal herself and how would he react? Sam’s mention of saving people from things like her was a bit too much for her and the tears she was trying so desperately to hold back burst through and began to spill down her face. She covered her face with her hands and slowly shook her head back and forth. “ This is such a nightmare. This can’t be happening; this can’t be real,” she said, through her sobs. She was a danger now, a monstrous creature. She really did deserve to be killed. Jessica lowered her hands and raised her head when Sam continued talking. So many things shocked her. Dean selling his soul? The mention of Heaven? The fact that Sam had been to Hell. And most of all, his mention of Lucifer. Lucifer was real? Her eyes widened as she realized that perhaps the small man in the forest wasn’t lying at all. …Could that actually have been Lucifer? She looked up at him and did her best to stop the tears, but they kept flowing. It was difficult for her to wrap her mind around everything that Sam was telling her, but she was starting to feel not quite as bad about her own life. “ No! Don’t-don’t leave,” she said, reaching out to Sam when he stood up, but quickly withdrawing her hand, fear that he would disappear or run off and leave her alone. She covered her face, trying to prepare herself for what she was about to tell him. “ I…need-I need to tell you something,” she said, lowering her hands from her face and looked up at Sam,” After I was brought back, something-something happened to me. I’m different than I was before-please…please don’t hate me.” She bit her lip as the tears quickened down her face and she slid the collar of her t-shirt down so that her shoulder was exposed, where there was a giant scar in the form of jaws where the werewolf had bitten her, knowing that he would probably recognize the form.[/blockquote]

“This is such a nightmare. This can’t be happening; this can’t be real,” Honestly, Sam was not surprised that that had been the first thing out of her mouth. She was probably scared of him. If only she knew the whole fucked up story. What he told her, that was just the cliff notes version. If she knew about trusting a demon and his addiction to demon blood. If she knew about the things he had done. Including what he had done when he was soulless. God, Sam could only imagine what Jessica would think of him. She would hate him, possibly be more scared of him than she probably was this very moment. And this was why a hunter could not have any type of relationship. Sam knew that he should have never gone off to college. Then he would have never met Jess and she could have been living a perfectly normal and happy life right now. She would never have been killed and she could have been a college graduate, married, with children right about now. He really hated that he had hurt her so much and she never realized that he was. ”I am so sorry, Jess. I should have never let this happen to you. I knew that it would never be safe, and I went out with you anyway. I just- I wanted a normal life so much. And I loved you. But things change. People change. And I know that I can't possibly have another relationship.”
”Don't leave.” Sam had been about to turn around, leave Jess be. He did not want to hurt her anymore than he already had. But those words made him stop in his tracks and he turned back to Jess. ”I shouldn't be here. I don't want to hurt her anymore. I won't hurt you anymore.” Sam could not stand the thought of ever hurting this beautiful woman ever again. She had been his first love. And no matter what, the girl would always and forever have this special place in her heart. But like Sam had told her... people change. Life changes. Sam was not the same person she had gotten to know and love. He was never that person. It was not like he lied to her or anything. He just kept certain things from her. Things that he knew would push her away, change their relationship. Things that could quite possibly put her life in danger. But he put her life in danger anyway. By just being around her.
But what Jessica had said next made Sam quite curious. And then she showed him, pulling down the collar of her t-shirt. Revealing her shoulders. And a bad looking scar. Sam took a step closer, trying to get a better look. And then his eyes widened and he instinctively took a step backwards. It was not that he was scared. Well, he was scared. But not for himself. For Jessica. After all, he had a thing for a werewolf in the past. And look how that ended. For the first time is such a very long time, Sam's mind went back to Madison. A young woman that he had tried so hard to help. To save. A girl that he actually felt something for. Was even beginning to fall hard for.
Sam remembered all too well. But he did not want to remember. It was painful, still, to think about. Dean had killed the werewolf that had bitten her. He thought that they had saved her and he did as he promised. Walking out that door and her life. But Sam wanted to make sure that she was okay before leaving her be. So him and Dean sat in the car and did a stake out. Madison had come outside and invited the boys in. And the night came and went and nothing happened. Should be a good thing, right? Should have meant that they had saved her, wouldn't you think? Apparently not. Apparently killing the werewolf that bit you does not actually work. Dean had gone back to the motel, leaving Sam and Madison to be left alone. And the two mad love, but when they were asleep in the woman's bed, that was when she finally changed and went out the window. Sam had raced back to the motel to get Dean. Needed to find her. And then she called Sam's cell, not knowing where she was. Once back at her place, Madison had begged Sam to shoot her, to kill her. And that was the last thing Sam wanted to do. She told him that that was how he could save her, that she did not want to live her life this way. Dean told his little brother that he could do it. And with tears streaming down his face, he told him that he had to do this. That she asked him to do it. And then it was all over.
It was a lot for Sam to deal with. He hated what he had to do. He did not want to. But it was what Madison wanted. And he had to do it. Seeing that Jessica was now one, too, he just was not sure if he could take it happening to him all over again. Having to kill someone that he once loved. ”No...” he muttered out./ This just could not be happening. It couldn't. ”This can't be happening. Not again.” He knew that Jess would not know what Sam meant when he said not again. How could she have known about Madison, after all. But really, he was not talking to her. Not really, at least. He was more or less talking to himself. He was lost in memories of the last time. He did not want to have to kill Jessica in the end. He couldn't. He knew that if it came down to having to, he would not be able to. He just could not deal with any of this. He could not keep losing those he had loved. Sam swallowed, taking another step back. He was not scared of her. He was scared of the idea of having to kill her in the end. Of course, Jess would never have known about what he had done or gone through in her absence.

Jessica'd had a slight glimmer of hope in her mind that perhaps since the two of them were in each others' lives again, that perhaps they might be able to be together again...but that light of hope was puffed out at Sam's words. The fact that Sam had said 'loved' instead of 'love' absolutely broke her heart. Since the last thing that she remembered was dying, she was still very much in love with Sam. "I don't blame you for anything, Sam," she said, not looking at him,"We were happy for awhile at least, but...I understand."
"I-I don't want to be left alone," she said, biting her lip. As of right now, Sam was the only person that Jessica had in her life. She felt that she was right in wanting to distance herself from people because, there was no denying it, she was a monster now. But she hadn't quite realized how much she had missed interaction with someone that wasn't a customer at the diner. But most of all, she didn't want to lose Sam once she had found him again. She didn't know if her heart could take the separation.
Jessica closed her eyes, not wanting to see the reaction on Sam's face. However, when she heard Sam moving closer to her, she opened her eyes and she saw the look of shock on his face when he realized what it was. She released her shirt and covered her face again with her hands. "Oh, God, Sam, I'm so sorry," she said, shaking her head, feeling absolutely disgusted with herself,"I'm a monster."
She slowly lowered her hands when she heard what he said. "Again?" No, no. That wasn't important right now. She wrapped her arms around Belle, who was still in her lap, in order to comfort herself somewhat. Jessica really did not want to die; she was terrified of dying. "Are you...are you going to kill me?" she asked, resting her head on Belle's and doing her best to stop the crying. She had to ask. She was terrified of what the answer might be, but she knew that she had to ask.

This was not happening. Not again. It couldn't be. He could feel his heart break when he realized that the scar was a werewolf bite. He'd fallen for someone like that once before. And in the end, it had left him shattered and heartbroken. He just was not so sure that he would be able to go through something like that again. He was not so sure that his heart was strong enough to deal with it all. After all, he had gone through so much death, sop much heartache in his life. So much blood and pain. It was hard to bare it all. This was just too much. Jessica was no longer that girl he loved. Or maybe she was. But things had changed. People changed. And he had done so much in his life. So much that Jess just would never get, never understand. His heart was breaking. More and more with each second that passed. He just did not know what to do here. What was he suppose to do here? And was this something that he should keep from Dean? Should Sam tell his brother that Jess, the girl that he had once been so in love with and was planning on marrying, was back from the dead? And most importantly, should he tell his brother that that same girl was now a werewolf?
No, no. This was all just way too complicated. Way to much for the youngest Winchester to handle. He was already crazy. Doing what he was afraid would have to be done might just very well push the boy over the edge. The other shoe. It might cause that other shoe to drop. Just like Dean is worried will happen.
Shaking his head, Sam turned his back on Jess, running both of his hands through his hair. A nervous habit that he seemed to do more often now than back then. He was nervous. Or scared. Or something. What was he suppose to do here? Sam just was not so sure. Sighing, he reached inside of his jacket, pulling out the gun. It brought back so many memories. It was like deja vu. Time repeating itself. Things happening to him again and again. God! Would he ever catch a break? Or was he basically damned? Sam looked down, hesitantly at the gun that he held in his right hand. He thought of Madison. How she had begged him to kill her. Telling Sam that this was the way that he could save her. And he could do that for Jess, as well. Shoot her. Kill her. Save her. He did not want the girl that he was so madly in love with to be in extreme pain. And this had to be painful. It had to be.
Taking in a deep breathe, Sam finally turned back to Jessica. He walked closer to her and placed the gun down on the bench, beside Jessica. ”I won't do it. I am not going to kill you. I did that once to save someone. Because she asked me to. But I can't do it. Not again. I hardly have much of a heart left to break. It would destroy me just as much. And I won't. I can't.”

Jessica frowned and fought back tears when she saw Sam turn his back on her. If she had known that staying and talking to him would have caused him this much pain and angst, she would have taken Belle and run in the other direction. But she had been so happy to see him. While she didn’t remember what had happened for the last few years, where she had been, or what she had been doing, it still felt like it had been so long since she had seen his face. She watched as Sam anxiously ran a hand through his hair, a trait that she recognized and it almost made her smile to know that the man she loved hadn’t completely changed and that it all wasn’t a lie. But she refrained from smiling because she felt that she would not be able to bear it and tears compromised her eyes once again.
She wished that she was dead, but at the same time, she was absolutely terrified at the thought. Jessica was terrified of dying because she didn’t know what might happen; she didn’t know what awaited her after her life had ended. Over the past few months, despite her deeply religious family, she’d had a lot of trouble truly believing that there was a God or even a Heaven. How could a God allow so many horrible things to happen to her?
Jessica couldn’t see what Sam had retrieved from his jacket pocket, so she just waited patiently to see what he would do. She looked terrified when he turned around, seeing the gun in his right hand. Her horrified look switched between Sam and the gun, fearing that he was going to shoot her-that he was going to kill her. To her surprise, though, Sam did not shoot her and instead placed the gun next to her on the bench.
It absolutely broke her heart to hear the next words that came out of Sam’s mouth. She didn’t want to see him so broke, so shattered. Jessica nodded silently, hugging Belle to her chest, fearing that if she spoke too soon, she would lose control and burst into tears. After a few moments, she felt ready to speak.
“If you want me to stay out of your life, I will,” she said, not looking up at Sam, but at the ground. She didn’t want to think about going on living in this world without Sam or without at least one person, but she didn’t want to continue putting Sam through this misery, either.

Sam just watched her for a moment, running his hands through his hair, thinking of what he wanted to say next. To be honest, Sam did not want Jessica to stay away. He wanted to help her, to save her. Something he could not do for Madison. Sighing, Sam knelt down in front of her and took a hold of her hand. ”No, Jess. I don't want you to leave. I want to help. I want to save you. And I will find a way to do that. I have to. It's my job, my job to save people. And you deserve to be saved.” With a sigh, he reached up, brushing a stray strand of hair out of her face. It was like being twenty-two again. He remembered the time all too well. But things had changed. Things happened. Like his death. Which may have also been something to change him. After all, he killed Jake in cold blood. It was kind of scary in a way. But still, even though he was human, didn't Jake deserve to die? Shaking his head,he looked down at the ground, finally letting go of Jessica's hand. ”I think we should talk, Jess. Catch up on the past. There are maybe even things I should tell you about.”
Finally, Sam got back to his feet and grabbed the gun, putting it back inside of his jacket. He then held out his hand for her to take. ”So, do you trust me?” Sam looked down at her, into the girl's eyes. He hoped that she would trust him. Why wouldn't she? Besides, the two really should talk. Maybe go back to he place. He would take her back to the motel. But that would run the risk of Dean coming in and finding her, seeing her. And to be honest, Sam was not so sure that he was even going to tell Dean. He couldn't. His brother would want to kill her more than likely because she was a werewolf. A monster now. Dean just did not understand what it was like to have something evil inside of you. Not like Sam did. And he would not let anyone hurt her. Never again. He should have been at the apartment to protect her all those years ago. But she was here now, she was a werewolf, and Sam would do everything and anything in his power to save Jess this time around.

[/img] Jessica closed her eyes, preparing herself for what Sam might say. She had a sinking feeling that he was going to agree with her, that he wanted her to stay away, that they should never see each other again. If it was what he wanted, that’s what she would do. She wouldn’t want her presence to be something that caused Sam pain and unhappiness. It would make her life even more miserable than it already was to know that they were both alive and possibly even in the same town, but that she was restricted from seeing him…but if that’s what he wanted… Sam wasn’t speaking and just as Jessica was about to open her eyes to look up at him, she felt him take a hold of her hand. The faintest glimpse of a smile graced Jessica’s features when she felt his skin on her own. He felt warm and familiar, something that had very much been missing from Jessica’s life the past few months. Everything seemed strange and out of place lately, including herself. She swallowed hard when she heard what he said. “ Is that even possible, Sam?” she asked, raising her head to look at him. As far as she knew, there was nothing that could be done…save for one thing. She felt a slight, irrational panic when Sam let go of her hand, paranoid that he would suddenly disappear or run away. It was silly; she knew that, so she resisted reaching out to grab his hand once again. He didn’t act like he would be going anywhere. He did say that he wanted her around, right? Her paranoia was replaced by curiosity when Sam mentioned that there were things they needed to talk about. She was curious about what exactly had happened in the past six years and what Sam had been through. Jessica couldn’t imagine going through some of the things he’d briefly mentioned just a few moments ago. Her eyes flashed to the gun as Sam grabbed it from the bunch, still a little afraid of being shot, but she shoved the paranoia towards the back of her mind. “ Of course I trust you, Sam,” she said, taking his hand and standing up, Belle hopping down at her feet. There were a few things that she needed to tell Sam, too. Maybe things would seem brighter after they both got things out in the open. She lightly brushed some blonde curls out of her face and said," Where should we go? We-we could go to my apartment, or...where do you want to go?"[/blockquote]

Sam sighed, looking away for a moment. He did not want to answer that. He was not so sure that it was possible to save her. He could not save Madison after all. But he would try. Maybe he would contact Zelda. After all, she was doing research on lycanthropy, right? Maybe she could help him out. But what he did know was that he would do everything in his power to save Jess. He just had to. This was Jess we were talking about here. She did not deserve this kind of pain, torture. It just was not fair. And it really did break his heart to see her like this. She seemed so... sad, alone. Sam hated to see the girl he had once been so in love with so unhappy. But he did not want to admit that he was honestly not so sure that he could save her. But he would definitely try. He would do anything in his power to try and save Jess.
And no matter what happened, what changed, Jess would always have this special place in Sam's heart. She had been his first love. The first girl he ever wanted to marry. And life, everything, may have changed (may be different) now, but that would always be one thing that would forever remain the same.
Sam gave the young woman a soft smile. Of course he knew what her answer would be. He knew that she trusted him. And why would she not trust him? In the past, when they were together, Sam had never given her a single reason not to trust him, to doubt him. ”Why don't we go back to your apartment. I mean, if that's okay with you. I just figured we could be alone, catch up. “ It seemed like the best place. After all, Sam was not about to take her back to the crappy motel room that him and his brother were previously staying at. Sam did not want Dean knowing that Jess was alive and most importantly, that she was now a werewolf. And he did not want to go anywhere public because the two really did need to talk and they did not need anyone to overhear them or whatever. ”I have so much to tell you. A lot has gone down since your death. So, you can lead the way...” he added as he took a hold of Jess' hand.

Jessica frowned and looked down when Sam looked away. He didn’t have to say anything or even do anything besides that. She felt her heart drop into her stomach and swallowed hard. It seemed that Jessica would have to make a difficult choice: either face her fear of dying or continue living as this monster that she’d become. Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place. She would just have to choose the lesser of two evils. She’d come to that conclusion awhile ago, but she didn’t want to fully accept it. After all, the lesser of the two evils would be for her to die. At least that way, she wouldn’t be a danger to anyone else. The problem was that she was absolutely terrified of dying. She didn’t know what would happen afterwards.
“Yeah…yeah, that’s fine,” she said, brushing some blonde curls out of her face as she thought back to her apartment, trying to think if there was anything she felt that she had to keep out of sight. There really wasn’t too much to her small apartment, so she figured she would probably be safe. After all, her biggest secret was out in the open with Sam, anyway. “It might be kind of messy. I haven’t had much time to clean it lately.” It felt kind of strange to be warning him of something like that – something so normal.
She felt her heart skip a beat as Sam grabbed her hand once again. Jessica wished that she could tell what Sam was thinking, but he seemed so guarded. She was still very much in love with him, but since it had been so long since she had been murdered, could she even hope to expect the same for him? She clasped his hand with hers and gave it a light squeeze.
“C’mon, Belle,” she said, lightly tugging at her dog’s leash, who was pausing to sniff some flowers. The cocker spaniel quickly caught up to Jessica and Sam, ears flopping. “Um…sorry, we walked here. Can’t really afford a car right now,” she said, lowering her head, feeling a bit ashamed at her pitiful situation. Ah, well. At least her apartment complex wasn’t too far away.
After a few moments of walking in silence, Jessica stopped in front of a rather run-down apartment complex. "It's not the nicest place," she said, leading the way inside and climbing up a flight of stairs. Whipping out her keys, she unlocked her apartment and walked inside. She felt as if her hand were cemented to Sam's - almost as if she couldn't let go of it.
"Can I get you anything?" she asked, after closing the door behind them and unclipping Belle's leash.

This really did begin to feel like a blast from the past. In some ways, it had seemed just like yesterday that Sam and Jess were sharing an apartment, in love, him planning on asking her to marry him. But in other ways? God, it seemed like a century ago, a lifetime ago. Everything had once been so perfect. Everything had once been so happy. And then Jess was murdered. Murdered all because of Sam. Because that damn yellow-eyed demon wanted to push Sam further and further. He still held so much anger from back then. Anger that Sam had tried so hard to let go. Anger that he just could not possibly forget about. How could he? He really was a lot more like his father than he ever realized or had even cared to admit too. Revenge running both of their lives. It definitely was not the best way to live., Not even a good way or a healthy way to be living your life.
But he did follow Jess back to her place, holding tightly onto the young girls' hand. He did not want to let go, either. Afraid that if he were to let go that she might disappear. But could you blame him. Sam had not exactly been in his right mind lately. But he did not want to tell Jess that he was crazy. That he was losing his mind. Losing every bit of sanity that he had left. He just was not the same guy that she had once known or even loved.
This apartment really was not all that bad though. Compared to where him and Dean stayed day after day, year after year. In cheap ass motel rooms. But at least Jess had a place to call home. Everyday. What about him? Or Dean? They road around in the Impala, staying in motels, working cases, winning and then moving onto a new town, new city, new state. Year after year after year. Living the same old pathetic lives. Shaking the thoughts from his head, Sam followed her into the apartment and looked around him before looking back to Jess. “Uh, sure. A beer if you have one. Thanks.” Everything was just changing too much for his liking. Then again, everything was always changing for Sam Winchester. “You know, you're apartment really is not all that bad. At least you have a place to call your home everyday. My brother and I basically live in cheap crappy motel rooms.”

Jessica grudgingly released Sam’s hand to wander over to the small kitchenette area. “Um…I think I might have one left,” she said glancing at Sam one more time before opening the refrigerator. Alcohol was a bit of a luxury for Jessica, so she hadn’t bought a new pack in awhile and she’d tried to make it last as long as possible. But to be completely honest, she really didn’t drink as much as she used to – even in celebration. She was afraid that her new, negative outlook on life would get the better of her and she would drink too much. What if she did that on a full moon? She didn’t want to think about what might have happened.
What Sam said next honestly made Jessica feel a little guilty about complaining. He was right, after all. She could have been living on the street. “You’re right…you’re right. Things could be a lot worse. I guess I’m just sort of feeling sorry for myself and-well, I’m kind of embarrassed about it,” she said, pulling the last bottle of beer out of her refrigerator. Back before Jessica was murdered, she was really used to things being nice. She came from a somewhat wealthy family, so she never really had to experience living in such a dingy apartment. “You really don’t have a place to call home?” she asked, sounding a bit sad as she poured the beer into a tall glass.
After preparing herself some iced tea, she brought the drinks over to the sitting area. After sitting down on the couch, she rested the two drinks on two coasters. Jessica had always been a bit annoyed by rings on tables that were left from the condensation on glasses.
“So…,” she said, resting back into couch, feeling horribly awkward. Jessica was honestly terrified of this situation. She wished that she could tell what Sam was thinking. He couldn't be that horrified or revolted by her if he wanted to go back to her apartment to talk. Right? "Well...what happened after I died? I guess I kind of know a little bit, since you told me at the park,
" she said, resting her hand on Belle's head after the dog hopped up on the couch next to her. " Um..." She wished that she had more to share, but she had pretty much told him everything...safe for the bit about the man in the forest.[/blockquote]
